the seasons are changing...

It is starting to get cold her in Washington (I am sure my dad is laughing because I am talking about the weather first in this weeks blog).  The rainy season has definitely hit and I am ready for it to be gone!  Adey has a small cold from wetness but we are helping her get better.  She doesn't care much for the nose saline drops but my heart aches when I hear her having a hard time breathing.  I hope she isn't a baby that is sick often!

The big news for us this week is we got Oskar neutered on Friday.   He is not a happy camper and hates the cone he has to wear for another 3 days.   We do take it off at times to give him a break.  He has been semi calm but with the puppy he is he wants to play but we have to remind him he can't do much right now.  But with the surgery there were no complications and overall he is recovering nicely.

Josh has now been in this semester for a month and is still enjoying it.  He seems more calm this semester and has finally begun to write down his assignments and get them done at school so we can be together as a family at night time.  It's kind of nice having him do his homework early verses when it is due.  We have also strived hard this week to go back to eating at our table except for our friday night pizza and movie night.  Before Adelynn we did really well with this but since she has been born it has been hard.  This week we buckled down and it actually hasn't been too hard.  We even put Adey in her high chair since it reclines and gave her some toys.  She would just talk to us and look around.  It was quite cute!  This week Adelynn will be 3 months old and we can hardly believe it.  She continues to smile all the time and hardly ever cries.  She is such a curious baby that she doesn't care much for being layed on her back...she wants to sit up and see everything around her.  She will do tummy time now more and more which is great!  She hasn't rolled over yet but is still continuing the back to front first.  She hasn't show any interest in going front to back.  One day she will.  She has made some friends at day care...one boy in particular.  A couple cute moments: Adey was in the bouncer and her favorite teacher was bouncing her and he came to help, he also put her pacifier back in her mouth once when she was crying, and he helped rub her belly one day when she had gas.  What a good little helper he is!  lets see what else...i got my toes done yesterday with my friend.  It felt good to be pampered.  They are green with cute flowers.  hm...oh yea.  I started a new tradition for our family.  I baked a pumpkin cake and it actually turned out cute!  I told Josh every holiday I am going to make a cute cake for it.  Also I want to start decorating for all the holidays.  It is fun.  When I get to stay home in a few years and Adey is a little older I think it will be more fun because then I can do crafts with my kids for the holidays for daddy's office.  What the many things I am looking forward to for the future?!

Here are what you are really looking for:

countdown to Halloween...

lets see...this week...

The most exciting...Katie's work had a fundraiser at Chuckecheese so we went.  But to start the fun off...Chucke came to work to visit the kids and Adey got her picture taken with him.  Then at the place she slept most of the time.  Josh and Katie played games to win tickets for Adey when she is older (we have like over 500 with some tokens left).  Josh's favorite game is the street basketball while Katie's is good ole' ski ball.

Nothing exciting happened during the week really.  However, Josh made yummy chocolate chip cookies on Friday night.  We shared with our wonderful neighbor who let us borrow some eggs and who always takes Oskar on long walks.  We trust her so much that we gave her a copy of our house key on Wednesday night so if she wants to come and get Oskar during the week she can.  She actually got him both Thursday and Friday but felt bad about putting him back in the kennel that she just kept him after his walks both days.  boy does he have her wrapped around his little paws?! They have a cute little female dog that is 2 and her and Oskar just run and play.  Our neighbor said it is quite commical.  Oskar is getting fixed this next Saturday because of his male issues he can't keep to himself (wink wink).

hm...Last Saturday we went shopping and again this past Saturday.  Thanks for the birthday money I now have a few new things.  We will go on another nice shopping spree with our tax return this next year...of course after we pay off some bills (sad day...welcome to adult hood).  I have been making Adey some way cute head band pieces.  I have learned 5 different bows so far...they are quite addicting.  I am hoping to intend one day to sell them.  Maybe I should make some business cards or something?!  Pass the word and if you want to buy any just let me know colors and styles.  Everyone at work keeps telling me how cute they are!  I have an old friend who showed me this website to buy some cute head bands for way cheap so...guess what I am ordering from them for sure!  Hm...oh yea.  At work I was given another responsibility, after Rose (our boss) leaves, if anything goes wrong or what not I am next in command for the other workers to go to.  It makes me feel quite special!  Also Rose had me give my first orientation of my classroom this past week which helped build my confidence in myself.  The more and more I am working with my preschoolers, the more and more I hope to have my own classroom in the school district one day!  Of course I need to get my masters but after Josh is working and done with school and our children are old enough.  Right now I am living each day with our little family just being happy and making the most of what we have.  Josh and I had a good conversation this morning on our long walk with Oskar and Adey (which has become quite fun going on long walks lately) that by the summer of 2011 Josh will be done with school for sure and he will have applied to grad school (he is hoping for UNLV or staying here in Washington) and if thing go to plan I should be able to take a break from work.  What girl isn't looking forward to that and a promise that the husband will strive for the wife to stay home..I never thought I was a girl who would want to but now having kids...it is my dream!  One Josh is hoping he can make come true!  He graduates next May with his associates and 3 academic cerfiticates...which he will apply to work for the state, forest services, and a few other places for experience.  I may get to take a month or so off during that time and hang out with Adey and Oskar...that would be quite fun!  My work would hold my spot and same for Adey.  Just a thought we have...but anyway...

We pulled out our decorations for Halloween learning that we don't have very many.  We have a few cute pumpkin cups, orange lights, and a glass pumpkin dish.  We need to get some more but we will start at the dollar store as they have the best!  Along with decorating comes the thought of costumes.  But...We need some help.  We are still trying to figure out what to be for Halloween.  Any suggestions?!  let us know...

Enjoy the pics for this week

another week passes...

so nothing too exciting this week.  Josh worked and studied for school, I worked and made more hair bows for Adelynn, and Adey just got cuter and cuter as each day passed.  We love every day we have together as a family.  She continues to smile all the time and make super cute faces and noises.  We have learned she loves being read too so every night after her bath we read our scriptures and say our family prayer and then we read her a few books and she goes to bed.  She likes touching at the pages so we often like to use board books.  Her grasping is getting stronger and stronger.  Yesterday while we were shopping with my birthday money and Josh's grant money, she would grab at her telephone rattle and plastic ring links.  I read to her in the car on the way to and from the mall and she would stare and grab at the books.  Oh...one discovery she has made this week is her thumb.  Before she knew she had it but boy does she suck on it multiple times a day!  She loves her thumb.  We try to get pictures of her sucking it...but it is kind of hard.  We love her so much!  I can't express what a great baby she is!  Let's see...other then this...nothing else is new!  Enjoy the new pictures...

Monkeys, elephants, and Katie's birthday?!

So this year for my birthday we decided to go to the zoo in Portland. It took us about an hour and 45 minutes to get there. The zoo was nice and we got to see a year old baby elephant that weighted 275 at birth and was about 1400 pounds yesterday!? could you imagine giving birth to a 275 pound baby? thats crazy! at least adey was only 9 pounds. She did so great at the zoo. we were there for about 6 to 7 hours and she honestly did not cry once! She rode in the baby carrier the whole time and took maybe 2 naps that were not more then 30 minutes each. the downside to that is she was cranky in the car on the way home because she was so overly tired and couldn't fall asleep! Before we headed back to Olympia, Josh took me to a nice Thai dinner in Portland. He had some kind of fish that came out looking like a sailboat. I had wonderful fried rice with chicken. Once we got home we took oskar for a long walk around our neighborhood since he had been in the kennel for 12 hours. I had a wonderful day yesterday with my family whom I love very much!

Today we stayed home from church and in our pajama's. Josh let me sleep in and cleaned up the house a little and made me breakfast (biscuits, eggs, gravy, grape juice, and hot chocolate). For my birthday he got me a nice hair straightener, a necklace, a coupon for a pair of shoes of my choice, a few scrapbook stickers, pink nail polish, ritter sports chocolate, and a beautiful card! I would say I am quite spoiled! for my birthday dinner he is going to make me my favorite: home made alfredo sauce with cheese tortellini. yum! not sure what we are doing for dessert. We are going to watch some movies later and go for a nice long walk as today is supposed to be one of our last warmer sunny days. You can tell the winter time is coming around here. Our leaves are changing fast and the temperature is dropping! This is one of the things I don't care for around here in washington...the rainy season!

enjoy the pics from our new camera from the zoo and the past few days...
