With Thanksgiving around the corner I wanted to teach Adey what the holiday is meant to be besides eating lots of food and schools being closed and the black Friday shopping (which I look forward to doing with her when she is older just like me and my mommy did...aw such memories).
So we took white paper (can be done on brown but we didn't have any) and brown colored pencils and we each colored the whole paper. Then we cut out our "tree trunk and taped them together. Then we traced Adey's hand and cut them out on green, yellow, red, and orange paper. We then taped everything to our front door (so she can be reminded every day of all the blessings in her life and so that we can actually do it every day). I let her pick which leaf she wants for that day and we date it and we write Adey is thankful for...
so far we have barbies, mommy, daddy, Paisley, Oskar, ice cream
these are of Adey coloring...she just got out of the bath by the way
working on her cutting skills which she is getting quite good at
the final product. i think it turned out pretty good and it was fun to make and a tradition we will do every year and let Paisley make one when she is old enough to understand.
