A night with the Caldwells

Saturday afternoon/evening we headed down to Santaquin to spend some time with Josh's sister Malinda and her wonderful family: Evan (hubs) and their kids Corbin, Princess Ella, and baby Edmund.  We had a nice dinner and yummy pie for dessert.  It is always nice to have family close to socialize and catch up...plus the girls have the BEST time together...they played barbies and babies and Corbin chased them.  Before we left Josh and Corbin spent almost and hour exchanging stories.  Edmund is almost 7 months old and getting big but still as adorable as ever...they sure make cute kids!  The only pics I got from the night was Adey playing the piano with her aunt and pretending to sing while Josh and I were playing with Edmund:

Adey loves anything to do with music and had a good time playing with her Aunt

isn't he the cutest?!

Utah Natural History Museum

On Saturday Josh finally had a day off and it was quite windy and cloudy so we took advantage and went to the museum put on by the archaeology department at his university.  Josh and Adey got in for free but had to pay for me...but was cheaper then we thought it would be for a state museum.  We saw Native artifacts and beautiful artwork, cells and Adey enjoyed the puzzle, Adey made an animal out of pipe cleaners (an activity they had going on at the museum for kids), DINOSAURS...the major part for going, and a few other sites.  We had a GREAT time as a family and it was nice to get out and to spend some time with Josh.  Here are some pics from our fun:

Discovery Museum

On Saturday we had a little family date at the Red Iquana...it never seems to amaze us how good the food is and great the service is.  Adey loves the chips and rice...Josh loves the carnitas....and with the food aversions right now I liked the simple bean burrito with cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and rice.  Adey ate some of my burrito too.  Then we went to Barnes and Noble to read books and share a brownie square cookie thing...then we walked Josh to work.  After that Adey and I stayed at the mall and walked around.  They had a few things going on for the 10 year reunion of hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics and we watched some of it...but we had more important things to do...go play at the Discovery Museum...it is basically a hands on museum and she had a blast...especially with the grocery store.  They also had a water area, barn/farm house, rock climbing wall, car/gas place, tree house, construction zone, ball tubes, and a house.  here are some pics from our fun:

Shopping at the grocery store...starting with the produce then getting her canned goods...she sure knows how to shop and look at the cute cart!

she helped people check out

water area...she loved the machines to dry her hands off with (they were blowing machines)

the house...had a table, living room with fire place, kitchen with cabinets and sink and fridge and stove

the ball area...she only wanted to play with the purple balls

Muscle girl

Now that I am slowly feeling better (not always having my energy back...but making myself be active)...i have built some workout time back into my schedule and boy is it nice.  I am not over doing it but I love the feeling of taking care of my body.  I like to walk, do the elliptical, or work out videos...but the later is my main source right now until we buy a house within the next year...and this is how Adey contributes to my workouts...the girl in the video had on capri like sweatpants and 2 sports bras so Adey wanted her shirt off:

p.s. i love my little work out buddy...she is such a sweetie!

Is it spring in February?

On Saturday we (me, Adey, and Oskar...Josh was yep at work) went out side for some sunshine and nice 50 degree weather...in FEBRUARY!  We blew bubbles, chased Oskar, and kicked/threw her big pink ball around...we have got to find a house with a yard ASAP after August (that is when our lease is up, the baby will be here, and Josh will be graduated and into his career of either the kitchen store or something else that may come his way...)  here are some pics from our fun:

After we blew bubbles we came inside and made some yummy oatmeal cookies...

I remember getting to lick the beaters when all was done...

Adey then took a bath and we had dinner with Josh and then ate our cookies...we tried making them like oatmeal cream pies ( they tasted good but tasted better just as oatmeal cookies dipped in milk) but i think this picture tells you how yummy the cookies were

p.s. here is where you can get the recipe for the cookies:

Adey made flowers

Adey made flowers using the bottom of a water bottle, purple paint, glue and pony beads (centers), and green crayons for the stems.  She had a lot of fun and made 2 pictures....they are hanging on our fridge:

Date night

On Tuesday Josh and I went on a date to a cooking class at his store.  We made Indian Cuisine (which consisted of a few different kinds of curries and this yummy deep fried bread filled food).  We had a good time and learned a few new skills and got to eat yummy food and take home the recipes.  It was a nice night just the 2 of us and we are looking forward to when we can take another class together.

While we were cooking Nana and Aunt Julia came to watch Adey and they had their own date.  They went to 5 guys and a cookie place for dessert.  They came home and played doll house and had a good time.  Adey always loves time with them and we are grateful they came to play with her...it really made Adey's day!

p.s.  sorry no pics just a journal entry for this

Another night with Josh at work...

I am trying often to come up with ideas to do with Adey...our fun, loving 2 year old while Josh is working so hard at school and now an assistant manager at Sur la Table (we are so proud of him and his help with the bills).  I still work but hours have been cut which does help with my morning sickness and now aching body (definitely harder when i am 3 years older this time and already have 1 munchkin to watch after). He loves his job and definitely has "senioritis"...been there done that.  He will graduate in August...seriously like a week before the due date of our second beautiful baby...so that will be a busy month for us as we have no idea what is gonna happen but hope to have a plan by July...we shall see what lies in store.

But on to what Adey and I did this past Monday while Josh was at work.  Earlier in the day Adey had her first actual dance class with a place that I am just in love with as well as Adey...she didn't want to leave but eventually we did with giving her teacher a kiss and a hug and telling her thank you (our child is so well mannered).  We will definitely be signing her up and can't wait to watch her recitals and her talent that she has!  We played when we got home and then Adey took a bath.  While she was bathing I set up a tent for us in the living room (chairs, blankets, pillows) and made us a semi-healthy but yummy dinner with peanut butter and jelly, carrots, grapes, blue berries, cutie oranges, and some chips.  Once she got out she was pretty excited and got dressed quickly and she picked to watch Princess and the frog...she stayed awake for the whole movie and fell asleep shortly after in the tent.  We had a few of her friends in the tent with us too (woody, jesse, buzz light year, ariel, cinderella, belle, tiana, her squeaky dog, hello kitty, and her baby doll...as per her request).  here are some pics from our night....we missed Josh and wish he could have been with us:

sorry the picture is blurry....made me sad

Adey and my adventure

On Saturday it was gorgeous, warmer, and beautiful sun but Josh had to work so Adey and I decided to walk about 3/4 of mile to a full mile down to Gardner Village (super cute little village with boutique shopping and a pond with ducks and oh so much fun).  Adey walked the whole way and we sang songs, counted, talked about plants we saw, being safe from cars, the weather, and how much i love her that words seriously can not describe!  she is an amazing child who we are very blessed to have in our family.  Her beautiful smile, talent, giggles, entertainment, love, intelligence, maturity, willingness to share with everyone, imagination, and so so much more is what she has to offer!  She is going to be an wonderful big sister and we talk about this baby that is coming is yes just 5 1/2 short months and she seems to be accepting it.  But anyway....we fed the ducks, went and played with train at the toy/book shop, stopped at the all about girls shop and picked up some lip gloss and bath fizzes (along with some Easter basket goodies for her) , and ended our adventure at the candy store with a few suckers and salt water taffy.  We sure wish Josh could have came but it was fun just the 2 of us girls and I very much look forward to the many years me and Adelynn have as we grow together and do the "girlie" stuff as she gets older (i plan to take her to get her first mani/pedi for her 3rd birthday).  but on to the pictures from our little adventure (there is only a few):

don't bother me...i am busy

For Christmas Katie got an Ipod touch and has downloaded some free educational games for Adey...sometimes we find her like this...

something we have been working on....

Adey is 2 1/2 now....i know time sure has flown by.  At times she shows interest in the potty so we finally started acting upon it...for the past few days she usually sits on the potty about 4 to 5 times a day and of those times she actually goes potty once which is a nice start.  Josh wanted to snap some pics and he told her he will be showing these to her prom date some day....lol!
