Christmas '09

Adelynn really likes these mum mums...here are a few pictures of her enjoying them...

So Adelynn painted with her hands for the first time this past week.  She used dark blue and white paint to make a "wintery snow mix" picture.  It turned out cute.  At first she wasn't sure what to think but then she got into it and mixed the colors and it turned out beautiful (as any mother would say of their child's artwork).  At the end she even tried to eat it...

After painting she got traced and they made a profile of her body and even put a bow on her profile since I always make and put bows on Adelynn's head.  I still need to take a picture of the finished product but here is her profile...

Next my co worker got Adey a few presents so here she is opening them...We love Marie...thanks!

These are Adey in her new jammies from Marie, playing in her jumperoo with a blue monkey from Nonnie...

Christmas was fun this year...We had Christmas eve dinner with Josh's cousins down on steam boat island and I made my first red waldworf cake (mommy would be proud) except mine was only 2 layers instead of 4.  It was yummy just like mommys!  On our way home we looked at Christmas lights...it will be more fun nex year when Adelynn can actually look at them.  We did go for walks in our neighborhood but I don't think she was interested in them...but Here are pics from our Christmas eve Jammies

Here is our Christmas...Adelynn must have known it was christmas because she normally sleeps in until about 8 but for some reason she got up at 6:40.  Josh built a fire and she was so interested in that that we mainly opened her present for her.  Adey got lots of presents (clothes, gift cards, books, wipes, bath toys, stuffed animals, singing toys, dishes, and so much more).  Oskar got gravy, a rope, squeaky toys, rawhides, and treats.  Josh got books, gift cards, socks, white shirts, tea, tea set, frames for his academic certificates, and more.  Katie got slippers, socks, gift cards, wallet, zip up hoodie, stuff for making bows, and more.  As family gifts we got a family sign, a game, glasses to drink out of, rice cooker, and plates.

on boxing day (the day after christmas) before we went to his cousins in Yelm we went shopping with our gift cards and got some clothes, a puzzle, adey a few bibs and wipes and a talking dog that helps with spelling and animal sounds and colors and singing and rechargable batteries for the dog.  we are looking for a bumbo for her that both targets we went to were sold out so we are keeping our eyes open.  we did find some wood puzzles that we will get her when she is a little older.  these pics were taking at the 2nd christmas party...

let it snow....

Last sunday it snowed and it was Adelynn's first snow fall.

in the car seat.  We thought we were going to visit our cousins but the snow kept coming down harder and we found out we had a flat tire and were sliding in the snow so we came home and played in the snow (see the pictures below of how much fun we had.)

Mommy kisses I am sure Adelynn would say are the best

She wasn't quite sure what she was stepping on.  We love the outfit and it kept her quite warm!  thanks nonnie and grampy

Oskar loved the snow...him and Josh ran up and down and when he came in he had his snow balls on his legs and he tried to eat them off as they melted.  quite cute!

First family snow picture...what a cute little pink bear we have!

our typical kiss...in the snow!

first time touching the snow.  she wasn't quite sure what to think of it

Oskar is trying to open his present from Uncle Danny, Nonnie, and Grampy.  And eventually he did get it open and sweet talked his way to letting him have one to chew on...

Adelynn got hurt at daycare...I swear it is a bite but they say none of the kids have 5 teeth...something happened last Friday but we don't know what...and the teachers didn't even know she got hurt.  not good...

first taste of water and first sippy cup.  She didn't know how to drink out of it and she mainly just chewed on it but hey that is how they learn...right?!

I like chewing on this I am sure is what she was thinking...

Brrrrr....

So at our church Christmas party on Friday Adelynn met Santa this week and decided to pull out of some of his beard...it was cute and I am sure it didn't hurt him as you know it was a fake.  We also ate yummy food from around the world the people made as potluck and sang songs and visited with good friends of ours!

On Wednesday of this week we went to my work Christmas party and Adelynn is such a good baby.  She really hardly ever cries and we are so grateful for that!  Dad painted her foot print mold that they did earlier that week. It is cute.

Josh is done with school for this quarter and we are officially down to only 2 more quarters left and Josh will have his associates, 3 academic certificates and over 130 credits.  Thus means he will being applying to schools for him to get his bachelors over his Christmas break.  He also intends to get his XBox time in and do some deep cleaning of our apartment.

Katie has been busy looking and putting together her project binder of things she wants to one day make.  She also continues to make bows for friends and Adelynn...I can't wait to sell them one day.  My sister in law told me they are big and wanted very much in Utah so if and when we move to southern Utah in less then 2 years I want to have some to sell and make extra money!  My latest hobby is looking up ideas that I can make with my Christmas present from my parents...a crichet and I can't wait to start using it!  Gosh...when I get to stay home when Josh is done with school boy will I be busy with being crafty!  I hope Adey inherits this  trait and wants to be crafty!  I hope one day my dream comes true of my parents living with us and my mom and I spend time making stuff...we could open a baby business with hair bows, head bands, burp cloths, stuff made from the crichet, congrats cards, and so much more...wouldn't that be fun!  or we could just make them for gifts.  Who knows...but that is the latest of my dreams and all I can think about is moving to Southern Utah, my parents retiring and moving in with us, building a house down there to share, me staying home and being crafty and building my talent in that area as well as cooking which I don't get to do but want to perfect my cooking and baking.  But anyway...I have rambled enough.

Adelynn rolled over tonight twice...from front to back towards the left side.  We were reading our night time Christmas story and she just did it...way to go!  Her teeth are growing like crazy and she loves to chew...especially now on her pacifier!  She grabs at everything in site that she can get her hands on...toys, blankets, hair, clothes, dogs, etc...Also she went to a baby sitter today for the first time as Josh and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary early.  We went to Fujiyama and walked around a little bit.  We were gone for 3 hours and it was hard but we had a good time.  We can't believe what has happened in 3 years for us...look for that in the next post....

but for now enjoy the pics...I am trying to figure out how to post videos...I have 2 for you to see of our little princess...be patient mom!
